When DMPD police officers Carlos Puente-Morales and Susan Farrell were killed in the line of duty earlier this year, our elementary school was personally touched. Officer Puente-Morales’ children attend Stower and Officer Farrell’s cousin is a teacher here. Today, students and police officers planted two trees on our school’s front lawn, a memorial that will stand tall in honor of two fallen officers. Stowe students participated in the 21st Century Afterschool Half-Pints Poetry Club. The following four students represented Stowe in the Half-Pints School vs. School Slam on May 24 at Central Campus: Hailie, Amani, Bay, and Zavion, led by our very own Mr. Montgomery.
